Step 1 – The first thing you will need to do to add commentluv to your blog
- Login into you blog. Type in your blogs full URL and then add /wp-admin example http://millerinternetmarketing.com/workwithdavidmiller/wp-admin
- Once you are logged in you will be at your blogs dashboard scroll down and click on the icon that says plugins – it actually has a picture of an electrical plugin that you would plug into the wall.
- Click on the button that says Add New
- Enter commentluv into the plugin search box
- It will bring up a list of commentluv plugins; the one you want is by Andy Bailey and the current version of commentluv is 2.81.2 so go ahead and click now.
- A box will pop up asking if you are sure you want to install this plugin select ok.
- Select Activate Plugin
- The plugin is ready to work right out of the box, but you can make changes by locating commentluv plugin in your list of plugins and selecting settings.
This completes the first step in adding commentluv to your blog. Comment allows your visitors to get a back from your blog.
Step 2 – This is not the other component that allows you to get a back link form other people’s blog for that you need to register at http://comluv.com
Here are the steps to registering at comluv.com
- Select the button that says Register URL.
- It will ask you to login, since this will more than likely be your first visit you will need to select the hyper link that says select new account.
- Create a user name, enter your email address, check the box agreeing to the TOS (Terms of Service), and then click next.
- The page will open displaying your user name and telling you to check your inbox.
- Login or check your email,
- Open the email and click the activation link.
- Save your password that comluv gives you on that activation page
- Select login
- Enter your user name and your password
- Comluv dashboard will open up, you will need to look just below the comluv logo bog and click the hyper link to go to the member’s area. (To register your blog url, feed url, site description and keywords you need to visit the member page here
http://comluv.com/member/ ) - Click edit profile
- Enter your twitter user name (example davidbmiller)
- Enter something about yourself in the bio box
- Click to save changes the page will open and say profile updated
- Select here to go back.
- Click edit site
- Enter your site url & click check.
- Enter your feed url. If you are unsure of your feed url simply open a new a new webpage and enter the address to you blog, and then add /feed/ and then enter. The page should open and you should be able to read your post. example http://www.millerinternetmarketing.com/workwithdavidmiller/feed/
- Number of post to return set it to 10
- Enter your site description
- Select category
- Enter up to six keywords separate by commas (example – David Miller, MLM, MLSP, My Lead System Pro, Network Marketing, Your Formula for MLM Success) multiple words separated by commas are considered one keyword.
- Click submit
- Your comluv profile is setup and that allows you when you go to other people’s blog to see the last 10 of your blog post giving you an option as to what link you leave on their blog post.
- Visit a blog that has commentluv installed enter your name, the email address you used when registering at comluv, and your blog url.
- Once you start typing in the comment box it will start checking your blogs feed and pull up the last 10 post. If you weren’t registered at comluv it would return one post (your Last one).
Having the ability to select a post of yours that is dealing with the same subject matter you are comment on will give you a better click through rate from that sites visitor.
Step 3 – In order to display your profile picture when posting comments you will need to visit http://en.gravatar.com/
- Scroll down and click Get Your Gravatar Today
- To sign up to get your own Gravatar enter your email address. You will need to use this email address whenever you post a comment.
- Click submit
- Check your email and open the email that says Welcome To Gravatar
- Click the Activation Link
- Enter a username, password, retype password again, and the click the signup button.
- The window will reopen and say Whoops, looks like you don’t have any images yet! Add one by clicking here (click the hyper link)
- Choose where you want to get your profile picture from
- Once your profile picture is loaded it may want you to crop it, so position it to the center, right, or left and then click crop to finish.
- Next you will need to rate your Gravatar, consider your Gravatar is a movie who should be allowed to see it. After you have decided your rating click the appropriate box.
Now when you post a comment enter the email address that you used when signing up for Gravatar and it will automatically display your profile picture showing everyone that you are serious about your business.

CommentLuv is a great plugin and very easy to use. Your post lays it out the way it is…quick, simple and effective. I have it on some of my blogs and it certainly can make a blog active and generate some”buzz”. That “buzz” can lead to a lot of things….
it is not working on your site, my guess is that you’re using a caching plugin that is minifying and it is not working properly.
go to the commentluv settings page and check the box for “enable minifying compatibility” and then reset your cache
